Sorry, no winner this week. Here is my weekly weather quiz question for the last time. What is a “ T Roll?”  Here is the correct answer. T Rolls are Transverse Rolls – elongated low-level clouds, arranged in parallel bands and aligned parallel to the low-level winds but perpendicular to the mid-level flow. Transverse rolls are one type of transverse band, and often indicate an environment favorable for the subsequent development of supercells. Since they are aligned parallel to the low-level inflow, they may point toward the region most likely for later storm development. I’ll have a new weekly weather quiz question for you starting Monday. Please remember to post your answer as a comment by clicking on “no comments /comments” in the upper right hand portion of this page under the caption, then add your comment. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs. The answer has to be a comment to win. An email answer will not count. Good luck.

An  upper level high (Shaded “Arch” shape with blue arrows) is going to move over the Pacific Northwest drying us up for the rest of the weekend into next week. That is keeping the cooler than normal temperatures around too. A couple frontal systems will visit us next week. The first will Wednesday night and early Thursday and the second one behind it will push into Oregon Friday.
