Here’s my weekly weather quiz question. Today is the last day to answer this quiz question. This is the description of an Oregon disaster. “Every major highway in Oregon was closed, cutting off entire cities from emergency supplies. Fifteen people were killed and more than 11,000 were homeless. The governor activated the Civil Defense emergency radio network for the first time in Oregon history to declare the entire state a disaster area.” What was the disaster and when did it occur? Please place your answer as a comment after the forecasts. The first person to post the correct answer will win one week of  free personalized forecasts tailored to your needs. Good luck.

A stronger  upper level High Pressure ridge (the “arch” shaped portion of the yellow lines) is over us and warmed us up quite rapidly. We did cool off a bit in the valleys yesterday. Most locations in the valleys will from near 90 to below 90 into the weekend as a result of that strong high pressure ridge moving . It will still be warm and dry this weekend for the Oregon Country Fair. A trough of low pressure will slide down from the Gulf of Alaska helping a cold front to drop down from the northwest Tuesday and cool us down a bit more.
