Sorry, but no winner this week. Here is my weekly weather quiz question for the last time. What is “the Hague Line?” Here is the correct answer. The Hague Line is the North Atlantic boundary between the U.S. and Canada fishing waters as determined by the World Court in The Hague, Netherlands. I’ll have a new weekly weather quiz question for you starting Monday. Please remember to post your answer as a comment by clicking on “no comments /comments” in the upper right hand portion of this page under the caption, then add your comment. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs. The answer has to be a comment to win. An email answer will not count. Good luck.

A strong upper level trough of low pressure is bringing a strong fetch of subtropical moisture at us from the “Pineapple Express.” The mountains will be getting snow, but it is questionable whether it will be enough to allow opening local ski areas. Not enough snow for Hoodoo or Willamette Pass Ski to open, but there has been enough for Mt. Ashland to open for business today. The new snow in the mountains will be rain in the valleys which has the potential for causing flooding.
