An upper level high pressure ridge (Shaded “Arch” shape) had been sitting over us keeping storms away. The ridge has flattened out enough to be called a “dirty ridge” and it allowed a frontal system to nose its way through into Oregon with the warm front moving through and the cold front washing out. The cold front is not a rain producer, but it will cool down the temperatures. We will see dry weather today through Thursday with a new frontal system returning the rain Friday. Skiers- Hoodoo is still operating (closed Tuesdays & Wednesdays), Willamette Pass (closed – opening again 1/10 & 1/11), and Mt. Ashland (closed, grooming now, decision to open will be made Thursday). Check their websites for conditions and specific schedules.
