No winner this week. Here is my weekly weather quiz question for the last time. What is a “Wasatch Wind?” Here is the correct answer. A Wasatch Wind is a strong easterly wind blowing out of the mouths of the canyons of the Wasatch Mountains onto the plains of Utah. Also called canyon wind. I’ll have a new weekly weather quiz question for you Monday. Please remember to post your answer as a comment by clicking on “no comments /comments” in the upper right hand portion of this page under the caption, then add your comment. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs. The answer has to be a comment to win. An email answer will not count. Good luck.

An upper level low pressure trough (Shaded “U” shape with blue arrows) combined with a frontal system to bring back the chance of showers overnight and this morning. Then high pressure takes over for more sunshine this afternoon and Sunday. Another frontal system will approach the Oregon coast between Monday and Monday night. Mt. Ashland is closed now waiting for more snow. They will open one last time this season today March 28th, snow or now snow, for their “Big Mountain Bash.” Willamette Pass and Hoodoo have officially announced that this ski season is over for both of them.
