It’s Monday and that means another weekly weather quiz question. Where in the world do they have the most days of thunderstorms in a calendar year? Again, extra congratulation points if you can give the number of thunderstorms there per year. Please place your answer as a comment after the forecasts and the first person to post the correct answer will win one week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs. Good luck.

______________

An upper level low pressure trough (the  “U” shaped dip in the yellow jet stream line) is moving in behind the high pressure ridge (“Arch” shape) that heated us up.  The trough combined with some cool Canadian air will return our temperatures back to the 80s. A weak cold front should drop down and push through the Pacific Northwest Wednesday keeping our temperatures pretty steady.

Advisories: A RED FLAG WARNING IS IN EFFECT FOR CENTRAL OREGON AND THE OREGON CASCADES FOR DRY CONDITIONS AND THE POSSIBILITY OF LIGHTNING STARTED FIRES. BE CAREFUL PARTICULARLY IN FORESTED AREAS WHEN THESE DRY THUNDERSTORMS ARE OCCURRING.
