Tim Chuey Weather

Here is my weekly weather quiz question again. Where in the world do they have the most days of thunderstorms in a calendar year? Again, extra congratulation points if you can give the number of thunderstorms there per year. Please place your answer as a comment after the forecasts and the first person to post the correct answer will win one week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs. Good luck.

______________

A weak upper level low pressure trough (the  “U” shaped dip in the yellow jet stream line) is going to stay positioned offshore for a while and that will keep our temperatures in a more comfortable range. Weak waves will  move through continuing the chance for thunderstorms and lightning strikes in the same areas that have been hit with them over the last few days. The trough will start moving eastward and by early next week high pressure will start to build in behind it.

_______________

Advisories: A RED FLAG WARNING IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM TONIGHT FOR CENTRAL OREGON, THE DESCHUTES  NATIONAL FOREST, THE CENTRAL CASCADES , AND PARTS OF NORTHEASTERN OREGON FOR DRY CONDITIONS AND THE POSSIBILITY OF LIGHTNING STARTED FIRES. BE CAREFUL PARTICULARLY IN FORESTED AREAS WHEN THESE DRY THUNDERSTORMS ARE OCCURRING.
