An upper level low pressure trough (the  “U” shaped dip in the yellow jet stream line) is starting to move eastward over the Pacific Northwest.  High pressure aloft (the “arch” shaped yellow line) and a surface high pressure center over the Eastern Pacific (represented by the blue “H”) will build in it early next week keeping much needed rain away from us.

Forecast for the Southern and lower Mid Willamette  Valley including Eugene-Springfield and Albany-Corvallis:  Mostly clear this evening,  mostly cloudy tonight and Sunday AM, a mix of clouds and sun in the afternoon, and partly cloudy Sunday night lows near 50 high 77.  AM clouds then a mix of clouds and sun a bit warmer Monday, partly cloudy Monday night and Tuesday night, then a mix of clouds and sun Tuesday and Wednesday highs 85-83-87 lows again near 50-52. Mostly clear evenings and mostly cloudy nights Wednesday night through Friday night, and AM clouds followed by mostly sunny Thursday and Friday, AM clouds then a mix of clouds and sun Saturday lows 50-53 highs 85-80-83. (seasonal averages high 83 low 52)

AM clouds, then sunny and a bit warmer  Tuesday, and becoming mostly cloudy Tuesday with patchy fog late at night high 64 low near 45.
