frontal system is bringing the rain back to the Pacific Northwest. I don’t know about you but I was awakened by a rather loud thunderstorm this morning. A heavy rain shower followed the booms of thunder. Rain will be likely this morning changing to off and on showers this afternoon high 59. There will be a slight chance of showers this evening then clearing. Fog and low clouds will appear late at night and Thursday morning with a mix of clouds and sun for the afternoon and a high near 65. Rain will be likely again on Friday high 60. Saturday looks like it could be dry with a mix of clouds and sun high 63. A 50% chance of showers Sunday and a high near 60. Look for showers to be likely again Monday and just a touch cooler. Tuesday will see a 50% chance of showers and a high in the mid to upper 50s.

Here again is this week’s weather quiz question. What meteorological instrument was invented by Samuel F. B. Morse and what was it’s meteorological function? Please list your answer as a comment. The first person with the correct answer will win a week’s worth of free forecasts tailored to your needs. Good luck!
