An upper level low pressure trough (Shaded “U” shape with blue arrows) is sending moisture and smoke northward at us. A frontal system (position shown is Friday) will be bringing more clouds and a continued chance of precipitation for the middle to the end of the workweek. The Perseid Meteor Shower peak continues tonight. It is caused by debris from the comet Swift-Tuttle. For best viewing get away from the city lights and hope for mostly clear skies after Midnight and before Sunrise.
