A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 11:00 AM TODAY FOR THE CASCADES AND FOOTHILLS SOUTH TO GOVERNMENT CAMP AND UNTIL 5:00 PM FOR WILLAMETTE PASS. Snow level today will be down to 2,500′ with 4″-7″ of snow. There will be another dusting of up to 2″ of snow overnight tonight with rising snow levels on Wednesday. Drive safely and remember to always have those chains with you when traveling the passes this time of the year.

A cold front has pushed through and now behind it much coller air is moving in.The valleys will see more showers likely this morning and even the chance of a thunderstorm. This afternoon a chance of showers and a possible thunderstorm with small hail will keep us chilly with the high near 50. Often we get the hail, but not always the thunderstorm. There will be a slight chance of showers tonight and a mix of clouds and  sun Wednesday morning, then mostly cloudy for the rest of the day. Rain will be likely again Thursday and Friday night with showers in between. There will be a chance of rain or showers Saturday through Monday with highs in the mid 50s.

Here again is this week’s weather quiz question. Who first explained rainbows and when did he do it? Please place your answer in the comments section with this post. The first person to post the full correct answer will win one week of free forecasts tailored to your needs. Good luck.
