Another  trough of low pressure is moving through Oregon (See “U” shape ) behind the high pressure ridge  (See “Arch” shape”) that kept us hot and dry. Weak high pressure will slowly start to warm us back up again by mid next week, then a cold front will move in between Friday night and Saturday.

At the request of the U.S. Forest Service, ODOT has closed OR 242, the historic McKenzie Highway to the public. The highway is being used heavily by firefighters and equipment
associated with the Scott Mountain Fire, approximately six miles north
of OR 242. Eastbound motorists will be turned around at the White Branch Youth Compound. … Westbound motorists will be stopped at the Dee Wright Observatory.

Mostly cloudy Monday with a (30%) chance of AM rain then a slight (20%) chance of afternoon and evening showers,  partly cloudy with  a slight (20%) chance of showers late Monday night and early Tuesday AM, a mix of clouds and sun Tuesday, then partly cloudy Tuesday night  highs 73-76 lows near 50.
