Congratulations to Garron Slocum who was the first person to post the correct answer for my weather quiz question. Here is the question one more time. What is the warmest temperature ever recorded in the world and name the location.Garrion’s answer “Al aziza, Africa (Sudan) a temperature of 136 D F in 1922” is correct. Garron wins a week of free personalized forecasts tailored to his needs. I will have another weekly weather quiz question for you starting next Tuesday. We’ll skip starting it on Monday due to the holiday.

A high pressure ridge (See “Arch” shape) is warming us back up again today, maybe be our last very warm day of the season, then another trough of low pressure (See “U” shape offshore) will replace the ridge and a cold front will move in over the weekend to cool us down again (see the nasty weather along the east coast due to Hurricane Earl).
Note: With the changing weather pattern we will see a drastic drop in temperatures over the holiday weekend particularly in the foothills and mountains. Be prepared for cold temperatures at night and possible precipitation if you will be camping or engaging in any outdoor activities.
