After Rochester I lived in Geneva, New York, in the Finger Lakes area of the state. The weather was similar to Rochester, but with fewer snowplows to clean the streets. We also experienced many “Nor’easters” which are low pressure storm centers that cause the rain and winds as they move through and then get worse after they moved to the east of the area. Due to the counter-clockwise airflow around the low even more moisture is spun in from the Atlantic Ocean back to the northeastern United States. The following link shows what “Nor’easters” can do.
