A  trough of low pressure (See “U” shape offshore) is setting up over the Pacific Ocean and will stay offshore keeping in a cool moist airflow for quite some time. A series of waves will push through the trough generating rain. A frontal system will be moving cooler moist air across the Pacific Northwest  bringing increased chances for rain. The Autumnal Equinox occurs next Wednesday at 8:09 PM beginning the Fall season and the full Harvest moon reveals itself in the early morning hours of Thursday September 23rd. A series of frontal systems will be approaching the coast toward the end of next week for even more wet Autumn weather.
