Greek Letter Omega

Greek Letter Omega – Blocking High Pressure Shaped Like It. | Image by wiki.com

An upper level ridge of high pressure, called an “Omega Block” because it is becoming shaped like the Greek letter Omega, (Shaded “Arch” shape with blue arrows) takes over clearing us out and keeping the sunshine around for the rest of the workweek. A cold front sneaks by the ridge and crosses the Oregon coast Saturday with another front right behind it and you know what that means, clouds and maybe rain. Maybe more active weather Sunday from a complex frontal system.
