Greek Letter Omega

Greek Letter Omega – Blocking High Pressure Shaped Like It. | Image by wiki.com

An upper level ridge of high pressure, called an “Omega Block” because it is shaped like the Greek letter Omega, (Shaded “Arch” shape with blue arrows) has taken over clearing us out and keeping the sunshine around for the rest of the workweek. A cold front sneaks by the ridge and crosses the Oregon coast Saturday with another front right behind it and you know what that means, some clouds and maybe some rain. Maybe another chance of minimally active weather Sunday from a weak frontal system.
