Here is my weekly weather quiz question for the last time. What is  “Rime Ice?” Here is the correct answer. Rime Ice is an opaque coating of tiny, white, granular ice particles caused by the rapid freezing of supercooled water droplets on impact with an object. See also clear ice.I’ll have a new weekly weather quiz question for you starting Monday. Please remember to post your answer as a comment by clicking on “no comments /comments” in the upper right hand portion of this page under the caption, then add your comment. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs. The answer has to be a comment to win. An email answer will not count. Good luck.

Another upper level trough of low pressure (Shaded “U” shape with blue arrows) will move in increasing the marine airflow for more clouds and cooler temperatures and showers with possible thunderstorms today.  A frontal system is heading our way bringing more showers and possible thunderstorms with it. By the middle of next week a frontal system approaches the West Coast. By next weekend it looks like a frontal system will be heading our way from the Northwest.
