Here is my weekly weather quiz question for the last time. What is a “Short-fuse Warning?” Here is the correct answer. A Short-Fuse Warning is a warning issued by the NWS for a local weather hazard of relatively short duration. Short-fuse warnings include tornado warnings, severe thunderstorm warnings, and flash flood warnings. Tornado and severe thunderstorm warnings typically are issued for periods of an hour or less, flash flood warnings typically for three hours or less. I’ll have a new weekly weather quiz question for you Monday. Please remember to post your answer as a comment by clicking on “no comments /comments” in the upper right hand portion of this page under the caption, then add your comment. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs. The answer has to be a comment to win. An email answer will not count. Good luck.

An upper level low (Shaded “U” shape with blue arrows) has brought the chance of showers and thunderstorms back. It’s a bit like a roller coaster as high pressure (Shaded “Arch” shape with blue arrows) returns Monday. By mid-week low pressure returns. By Wednesday a frontal system approaches the Pacific Northwest from the northwest increasing our rain chances.
