An upper level low pressure trough (shaded area) that’s offshore now will move closer and send a series of cold fronts toward us including one by tonight & Friday that will drop snow levels down to the passes. Look for rain likely this morning then rain and breezy ( SW 15-25 mph) this afternoon high near 60, then showers and breezy ( SW 15-25 mph) at night low in the mid 40s. Showers and much cooler for Friday high near 50. Rain will be likely Saturday morning changing to afternoon showers the high barely reaching 50. Sunday through Tuesday will also be wet. For Veterans’ Day, Wednesday, there will be a chance of showers with the high 56. Snow levels in the Cascades will drop to 6,000′ Friday night with 9-12″ of snow. The snow level will be below pass levels at 4,000′ Friday, 3,500′ Friday nigh.  Saturday, 4,000′ dropping to 2,500? Saturday night, 3,000′ Sunday, then hovering right around pass levels at 5,000′ Monday through Veterans’ Day Wednesday.

Here is my weekly weather quiz question again. How fast do raindrops and snowflakes fall? You must give both and please use miles per hour as the measure. The first person to post the correct answer as a comment will win one free week of personalized forecasts tailored to their needs. Good luck.
