Here is my weekly weather quiz question for the last time. What is a “Sling Psychrometer?” Here is the correct answer. A Sling Psychrometer is an instrument used to measure the water vapor content of the atmosphere in which wet and dry bulb thermometers are mounted on a frame connected to a handle at one end by means of a bearing or a length of chain. The psychrometer is whirled by hand to provide the necessary ventilation to evaporate water from the wet bulb. I’ll have a new weekly weather quiz question for you starting Monday. Please remember to post your answer as a comment by clicking on “no comments /comments” in the upper right hand portion of this page under the caption, then add your comment. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs. The answer has to be a comment to win. An email answer will not count. Good luck.

An upper level high (Shaded “Arch” shape with blue arrows) will keep us in sunshine and warmer temperatures for the rest of the long Memorial Day holiday weekend. A frontal system will be moving toward the Pacific Northwest Wednesday returning the chance of showers by Thursday. Another frontal system is shown well offshore next Friday.
