Upper level low pressure (Shaded “U” shape with blue arrows) will hang around through the middle of the week and then move to the east allowing upper level high pressure (Shaded “Arch” shape with blue arrows) to take over returning the sunshine and warmer temperatures. It looks like the only frontal system to approach the Pacific Northwest will be to our North next Monday.

Advisories:

  • A Blue-Green Algae health advisory remins in effect for Howard Bay (sometimes called Howards Bay or Howard’s Bay) in Upper Klamath Lake. It now includes all of Agency and Upper Klamath Lakes. People should avoid swallowing water while swimming or inhaling water droplets as a result of high-speed water activities, such as water skiing or power boating, in areas where blooms are identified. Although toxins are not absorbed through the skin, people who have skin sensitivities may experience a puffy, red rash at the affected area.
  • A Blue-Green Algae health advisory HAS BEEN LIFTED for the Metolius Arm of Lake Billy Chinook from Perry South Campground to and including the area around Three Rivers Marina, located about 12 miles Southwest of Madras in Jefferson County. It also includes the Crooked River Arms. Tests prove that the toxin levels have dropped to a safe level for humans, but pets still should be kept away from the water at this time.
