An upper level high pressure ridge (Shaded “Arch” shape in blue arrows) has weakened enough to allow a weak frontal system  to slip into the Pacific Northwest. High pressure strengthens again next week increasing  the temperatures and removing the chance of precipitation.

Advisories:

• A RED FLAG WARNING IS IN EFFECT FOR STRONG GUSTY WINDS AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY UNTIL 9 PM TONIGHT FOR THE WESTERN ROGUE BASIN INCLUDING THE ILLINOIS VALLEY, THE SISKIYOU MOUNTAINS, THE EASTERN ROGUE VALLEY AND THE SOUTHERN OREGON CASCADES.
• A Health Advisory remains in effect for ocean water contact at Neskowin Beach located in Tillamook County due to higher than normal levels of fecal bacteria. Contact with the water can result in diarrhea, stomach cramps, skin rashes, upper respiratory infections and other illnesses.Direct contact with the water should be avoided in this area until the advisory is lifted, especially by children and the elderly who may be more vulnerable to waterborne bacteria. Visitors should avoid wading in nearby creeks, pools of water on the beach, or in discolored water, and stay clear of water runoff flowing into the ocean.

• A Blue-Green Algae Health Advisory remains in effect for Agency Lake. Agency Lake is located just north of Upper Klamath Lake near Klamath Falls along Highway 97 in Klamath County. Water monitoring on the lake has confirmed the presence of high levels of blue-green algae and associated toxins that can be harmful to people and animals. Swallowing water while swimming or inhaling water droplets as a result of high-speed water activities, such as water skiing and power boating, should be avoided in areas where blooms are identified. Although toxins are not absorbed through the skin, contact with cells from a bloom can cause skin irritation and a red, puffy rash in individuals with skin sensitivities, or those who develop rashes easily.
• A Blue-Green Algae Health Advisory remains in effect for Howard Bay (sometimes called Howards Bay or Howard’s Bay) in Upper Klamath Lake ONLY. People should avoid swallowing water while swimming or inhaling water droplets as a result of high-speed water activities, such as water skiing or power boating, in areas where blooms are identified. Although toxins are not absorbed through the skin, people who have skin sensitivities may experience a puffy, red rash at the affected area.
