Here is my weekly weather quiz question for the last time. What is “Agglomerate?” Here is the correct answer. Agglomerate is an ice cover of floe formed by the freezing together of various forms of ice. I’ll have a new weekly weather quiz question for you starting Monday. Please remember to post your answer at the bottom of this page. An email will not suffice. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs. Good luck.

An upper level low pressure trough (Shaded “U” shape area with blue arrows) is sending disturbances our way. The days 1,2 & 3 graphic shows the front that moved in today. The days 3 through 7 graphic shows the parade of storms headed our way through the week into next weekend..
Note: Hope you remembered to turn your clocks back (Fall Back) at bedtime last night. The Fire Department reminds you that you should check the batteries in your smoke detectors, Co2 detectors and Radon detectors. Replace batteries if necessary.

Advisories:
- A HIGH SURF ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 AM TODAY FOR THE SOUTH CENTRAL OREGON COAST AND THE CURRY COUNTY COAST.
- A Blue-green Algae Health Advisory has been issued for Howard Bay located in Upper Klamath Lake. Water monitoring on the lake has confirmed the presence of high levels of blue-green algae and associated toxins that can be harmful to people and animals. Swallowing water while swimming or inhaling water droplets as a result of high-speed water activities, such as water skiing and power boating, should be avoided in areas where blooms are identified. Although toxins are not absorbed through the skin, contact with cells from a bloom can cause skin irritation and a red, puffy rash in individuals with skin sensitivities, or those who develop rashes easily. Cell counts in other parts of the lake were low.
- A Permanent Health Advisory is in effect for the South Umpqua River and Lawson Bar. Pools in the bedrock along the rivers edge are known to develop Blue-green Algae (cyanobacterial) blooms that can be harmful to pets and people if accidental ingestion occurs. Signs have been posted along several access areas along the river.
- A Blue-Green Algae Health Advisory remains in effect for Agency Lake. Agency Lake is located just north of Upper Klamath Lake near Klamath Falls along Highway 97 in Klamath County.
