Here is this week’s weather quiz question. Hot air ballooning began on June 4, 1783 as two brothers demonstrated the first free balloon flight. Give me the last name of the brothers and for extra credit tell me where the flight took place. Please place your answer as a comment after the forecasts on this page. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs. Good luck.

_______________

The stormy wet weather is far from over with more rain possible into mid week. The coast and particularly the mountains could see much heavier amounts of precipitation and the mountains will see snow in the higher elevations down to pass levels. Be particularly watchful if you live near a creek, stream, or river as the levels could rise rapidly with sustained moderate to heavy rainfall.

______________

The upper level airflow has turned from the west and northwest and has changed our weather to very wet with bursts of windy.  A second strong frontal system pushed through Oregon Sunday bringing some heavy amounts of rain and strong winds with it, not to mention mountain slow levels that fell to pass levels dropping measurable snow on the roadways. It’s not over yet.  Another frontal system will push through Oregon between Thursday and Friday.
