Here is my weekly weather quiz question for the last time. What is  “Aphelion?” Here is the correct answer.  Aphelion is the point on the annual orbit of a body (about the sun) that is farthest from the sun; at present, the earth reaches this point (152 million kilometer from the sun) on about 5 July. Opposite of perihelion. I’ll have a new weekly weather quiz question for you starting Monday. Please remember to post your answer at the bottom of this page. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs.  Good luck.

An Upper Level Low Pressure Trough (Shaded “U” shape with blue arrows) has taken control of our weather sending a lot of moisture into the Pacific Northwest. The graphic for days 1-3 shows no fronts moving  through Oregon now. The graphic for days 3-7 shows a series of frontal systems that will keep our weather active all of next week. For mountain snow conditions at the local ski areas check out their websites or give them a call.
