An Upper Level Low Pressure Trough (Shaded “U” shape with blue arrows) has taken control of our weather sending a lot of moisture into the Pacific Northwest. The graphic for days 1-3 shows the frontal system moving through Oregon. The graphic for days 3-7 shows a series of frontal systems that will keep our weather active through next Wednesday. For mountain snow conditions at the local ski areas check out their websites or give them a call.

  • AN AVALANCHE WARNING IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM THIS EVENING FOR THE BACKCOUNTRY IN THE MT. HOOD AREA. HEAVY SNOWFALL AND WIND WILL CREATE DANGEROUS AVALANCHE CONDITIONS MAKING SLAB AVALANCHES VERY LIKELY. THIS WARNING DOES NOT INCLUDE THE SKI AREAS WHERE AVALANCHE MITIGATION MEASURES ARE PERFORMED.
  • A FLOOD WATCH IS IN EFFECT FROM LATE TONIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY EVENING FOR THE CASCADE FOOTHILLS IN LANE COUNTY, THE CENTRAL COAST RANGE OF WESTERN OREGON, THE CENTRAL OREGON COAST, THE CENTRAL WILLAMETTE VALLEY, AND THE SOUTH WILLAMETTE VALLEY.
  • A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM TONIGHT FOR THE NORTHERN OREGON CASCADES, NOT INCLUDING THE CASCADES IN LANE COUNTY.
  • A Permanent Health Advisory remains in effect for the South Umpqua River and Lawson Bar.
