An Upper Level Low Pressure Trough (Shaded “U” shape with blue arrows) has taken control of our weather sending a lot of moisture into the Pacific Northwest. The graphic for days 1-3 shows the frontal system moving through Oregon. The graphic for days 3-7 shows a series of frontal systems that will keep our weather active through next Wednesday. For mountain snow conditions at the local ski areas check out their websites or give them a call.

- AN AVALANCHE WARNING IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM THIS EVENING FOR THE BACKCOUNTRY IN THE MT. HOOD AREA. HEAVY SNOWFALL AND WIND WILL CREATE DANGEROUS AVALANCHE CONDITIONS MAKING SLAB AVALANCHES VERY LIKELY. THIS WARNING DOES NOT INCLUDE THE SKI AREAS WHERE AVALANCHE MITIGATION MEASURES ARE PERFORMED.
- THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED AN ADVISORY FOR POSSIBLE FLOODING ON THE MAIN STEM WILLAMETTE PARTICULARLY NEAR THE SIUSLAW AND MOHAWK RIVERS. THERE IS ALSO A POSSIBILITY OF FLOODING NEAR THE COQUILLE RIVER AT COQUILLE, THE SOUTH FORK OF THE COQUILLE RIVER AT MYRTLE POINT. - A FLOOD WATCH IS IN EFFECT FROM LATE TONIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY EVENING FOR THE CASCADE FOOTHILLS IN LANE COUNTY, THE CENTRAL COAST RANGE OF WESTERN OREGON, THE CENTRAL OREGON COAST, THE CENTRAL WILLAMETTE VALLEY, AND THE SOUTH WILLAMETTE VALLEY.
- A Permanent Health Advisory remains in effect for the South Umpqua River and Lawson Bar. Pools in the bedrock along the rivers edge are known to develop Blue-green Algae (cyanobacterial) blooms that can be harmful to pets and people if accidental ingestion occurs. Signs have been posted along several access areas along the river.
