An Upper Level Low Pressure Trough (Shaded “U” shape with blue arrows) has taken control of our weather sending a lot of moisture into the Pacific Northwest. The graphic for days 1-3 shows the frontal system moving through Oregon. The warm front moved through and the cold front is following behind it. The graphic for days 3-7 shows a series of frontal systems that will keep our weather active through next Thursday. For mountain snow conditions at the local ski areas check out their websites or give them a call.
*Note: Don’t forget to Spring ahead and turn your clock ahead at bedtime Saturday night (officially 2 am Sunday). Also, check the batteries in your smoke alarm, CO2 alarm, and Radon detector if you have them. Replace batteries as needed.

Advisories:
- AN AVALANCHE WARNING IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM THIS EVENING FOR THE BACKCOUNTRY IN THE MT. HOOD AREA. HEAVY SNOWFALL AND WIND WILL CREATE DANGEROUS AVALANCHE CONDITIONS MAKING SLAB AVALANCHES VERY LIKELY. THIS WARNING DOES NOT INCLUDE THE SKI AREAS WHERE AVALANCHE MITIGATION MEASURES ARE PERFORMED.
- A Permanent Health Advisory remains in effect for the South Umpqua River and Lawson Bar. Pools in the bedrock along the rivers edge are known to develop Blue-green Algae (cyanobacterial) blooms that can be harmful to pets and people if accidental ingestion occurs. Signs have been posted along several access areas along the river.
