Here is this week’s weather quiz question. This is a very basic weather question. What is a “rain shadow?” For extra ah ha points how does it work in Oregon weather? Please place your answer as a post on this page after the forecasts. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs. Good luck.

_______________

An upper level trough of low pressure (“U” shaped shaded area) is moving Eastward and will keep sending waves of moisture at the Pacific Northwest. A frontal system will push into Oregon tonight bringing rain some wind, and mountain snow. A strong frontal system will be approaching the coast Thursday. All of this adds up to wet and cool weather for a while, but next weekend has the potential of being dry as high pressure takes over.

Advisories:  A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT UNTIL  4 AM WEDNESDAY ABOVE 3,500 FT. FOR THE NORTH CASCADES INCLUDING THE CASCADES OF LANE COUNTY.
