Another Upper Level Low Pressure Trough (Shaded “U” shape with blue arrows) is moving away as an Upper Level High Pressure Ridge (“Shaded “Arch” shape with blue arrows on previous graphic) takes over Friday into the weekend. The graphic for days 1-3 shows the next front that is headed for the Pacific Northwest Saturday. There why there will be a break Friday into the weekend.   • A BEACH HAZARDS STATEMENT IS IN EFFECT FOR THE SOUTH CENTRAL OREGON COAST AND THE CURRY COUNTY COAST INCLUDING ALL OF THE BEACHES ALONG THE CURRY, COOS, AND DOUGLAS COUNTY COASTS FROM SATURDAY MORNING THROUGH SUNDAY MORNING . THE SNEAKER WAVES THREAT WILL INCREASE SATURDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING AND CONTINUE INTO EARLY SUNDAY MORNING AS A LONG PERIOD WEST SWELL IMPACTS THE COAST.
  • A WIND ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM TONIGHT FOR CENTRAL AND EASTERN LAKE COUNTY.
  • A FLOOD WARNING IS IN EFFECT FOR THE COLUMBIA RIVER AT VANCOUVER AFFECTING MULTNOMAH COUNTY.
  • A Permanent Health Advisory remains in effect for the South Umpqua River and Lawson Bar. Pools in the bedrock along the rivers edge are known to develop Blue-green Algae (cyanobacterial) blooms that can be harmful to pets and people if accidental ingestion occurs. Signs have been posted along several access areas along the river.
