We didn’t find a winner Monday, so what about today? Here is the question again. What weather phenomenon helped cause the worst weather-related aircraft accident and when did it happen? Now hang on for a wet and windy forecast! A strong upper level low (shaded area) will move a bit to the northeast bringing more wind with it. The next cold front is moving in to keep it windy and wet. The coast was pelted with high winds Monday.

There are many advisories that have been issued by the National Weather Service.  For the North Coast: A HIGH WIND WARNING IS IN EFFECT FOR THE NORTH COAST UNTIL 2AM TODAY, A COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 PM TODAY, AND A HIGH SURF ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM TONIGHT.

For the South Coast: A HIGH WIND WARNING IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 AM AND A HIGH SURF ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 AM WEDNESDAY.

For the Willamette Valley: A WIND ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 AM TODAY.

Look for morning rain then showers with a slight chance of thunderstorms this afternoon. Winds will be S 15-20 mph shifting SW 5-15 this afternoon. Todays high will be near 50 low near 40. Showers will be likely tonight and Wednesday high in the upper 40s low near 40 and breezy at night. Showers likely again Thursday and breezy high 50 low 42. Rain will be likely (60% chance) Friday through Sunday night. Monday will be drier with just a 40% chance of rain. Highs will continue near 50 with lows in the low 40s.

In the Cascades: A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FROM 6 AM UNTIL 2 PM TODAY.

The snow level will be 3,500′ falling to 3,000′ today producing 7-13″ of snow and tonight 2,500′ with an additional 1-3″ of snow. Thursday it will be breezy and rise to 5,500′. The snow level will fall to and stay below pass levels Friday through Monday. That’s continued good news for skiers as Hoodoo and Willamette Pass ski areas look like they will be open in time for Thanksgiving weekend.
