Here is this week’s weather quiz question. Let’s make this one local  that relates to our current weather pattern. What is the greatest snow depth ever officially reported for Eugene? A pat on the back  if you know the year in which it occurred. Please place your answer as a comment after the forecasts on this page. The first person to post the correct answer will win one week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs. Good luck.

The upper airflow is bringing much colder air toward us both aloft and at the surface.  An arctic air mass is being pushed South by a strong jet stream (see airflow graphic above) and will move down behind a frontal system to our North. The area hills will be white and there will be a chance of snow in the valleys, but I don’t think it will be more than an inch in the Eugene-Springfield area, if that much. Another frontal system will push through from the west by Saturday bringing more rain with it.
