Your Oregon Civil War Football Weather Forecast:

Ducks vs Beavers at Reser Stadium Corvallis:  Kickoff 12:30 PM today mostly cloudy with just a slight (20%) chance of showers Temp near 40 Wind N 5-10 mph. It looks like a mostly dry day, but I wouldn’t go without the rain gear. You may run into some AM fog on your way to Corvallis and you should bundle up since it will be quite cool.

Sorry, but no winner this week. Here is my weekly weather quiz question for the last time. This one relates to our space program. What U.S. space vehicle was launched in 1973 and returned to earth in July of 1979? A hint: it wasn’t a “soft” landing. The answer is “Skylab.” It’s engines failed and it was falling out of orbit. There was a plan in the works at NASA to use the Space Shuttle to take a replacement engine up to keep Skylab in orbit until it could be properly fixed. Delays in the Shuttle program didn’t have it ready before Skylab plummeted back to Earth. I’ll have another weekly weather quiz question starting Monday. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free of personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs.

Attention skiers: All of the local Ski areas are open.

Another  trough of low pressure will be moving Eastward away from us giving us some drier weather. Another low will move in offshore to set us up for more storms. Friday started the short drying trend. The next major frontal system will approach the Pacific Northwest between Tuesday, so that should mean a relatively dry weekend then back to wet next week.
