Here is my weekly weather quiz question for the last time. What is a “Core Punch?” Here is the correct answer. Core Punch [Slang], is a penetration by a vehicle into the heavy precipitation core of a thunderstorm. Core punching is not a recommended procedure for storm spotting. I’ll have a new weekly weather quiz question for you Monday. The first person to post the correct answer as a comment on this page will win a week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs. Good luck.

Upper Level High Pressure (Shaded “Arch” shape with blue arrows) has moved in to clear the skies and dry us out a bit. The graphics for days 1-3 show a frontal system approaching the Pacific Northwest Monday . An Upper Level Low Pressure Trough will take over next week to help return the rain. The graphics for days 3-7 show the next series frontal systems heading our way next Tuesday through Saturday.
