Here is my weekly weather quiz question for the last time. What are “Crepuscular Rays?” Here is the correct answer. Crepuscular Rays are the alternating bands of light and dark (rays and shadows) seen at the earth’s surface when the sun shines through clouds. I’ll have a new weekly weather quiz question for you starting Monday.  The first person to post the correct answer as a comment on this page will win a week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs.  Good luck.

An Upper Level Low Pressure Trough (Shaded “U” shape with blue arrows) is continuing to bring the wet weather. The graphics for days 1-3 show a warm front moving into the Pacific Northwest Saturday and the cold front that will follow it by Monday. The graphics for days 3-7 show surface high pressure trying to keep the next frontal systems away from us.

Note: Mt. Ashland opened for skiing with regular hours through Monday. Check their webpage for details. Hoodoo reports they are open Sunday from 9 AM until 9 PM.  Willamette Pass still doesn’t have enough snow to open.
