Another Upper Level Low Pressure Trough (Shaded “U” shape with arrows) slides slowly eastward continuing the flow of cold Arctic air coming through Canada into the Northwest. The graphics for days 1-3 show the next front well offshore by Friday AM. The graphics for days 3-7 show a frontal system that will slide into the Pacific Northwest Sunday. Then there’s the next one approaching the Oregon coast next Wednesday morning.

Note: Snow finally fell and stuck to the roadways down to the valley floor today so please drive extra carefully because the moisture that is left on the roads overnight will freeze producing some icy conditions. (2 in.of snow reported today at the Eugene Airport, 0.75 in. to 1 in. of snow at my house in the South Hills, 3-4 in. of snow reported at the north end of Eugene, and about 4 in. of snow in Marcola.

It looks like Willamette Pass Ski is still not operating, but Hoodoo and Mt Ashland are open for limited skiing. (Hoodoo open 9 AM-4 PM through April over spring break.
