Check out my latest Eugene Daily News Weather Or Not column: Not Much Winter Weather Until Now. What’s going on?

__________

Here is my weekly weather quiz question for the last time. What is “Deep Percolation Loss?” Here is the correct answer. Deep Percolation Loss in hydrologic terms, is water that percolates downward through the soil beyond the reach of plant roots. I’ll have a new weekly weather quiz question for you starting Monday. The first person to post the correct answer as a comment on this page will win a week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs.  Good luck.

Another Upper Level Low Pressure Trough (Shaded “U” shape with arrows) slides slowly eastward continuing the flow of cold Arctic air coming through Canada into the Northwest. The graphics for days 1-3 show the next front moving in Sunday. The graphics for days 3-7 show the frontal systems be approaching the Pacific Northwest Tuesday and Thursday.

Note: It looks like Willamette Pass Ski is still not operating, but Hoodoo is open 9 AM- 4 PM. Mt. Ashland is open and report all lifts are operating. They will be open 9  AM until 4 pm March 24th through April 1st for Spring break. Check their websites for details.
