The upper air flow (yellow jet stream and dark colors for winds) shows a  trough of low pressure swinging down from the Gulf of Alaska (“U” shape offshore) which is pushing this frontal system in for today and more storm systems will follow close behind. No real chance of a “White Christmas” in the valleys because it will be too warm with rain. Our best chance of valley snows usually comes in January and February.

Advisories: A WINTER STORM WATCH IS IN EFFECT FROM LATE TONIGHT THROUGH LATE SUNDAY AFTERNOON ABOVE 2,000 FT. FOR EASTERN CURRY COUNTY AND JOSEPHINE COUNTY. A WIND ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 PM TODAY FOR JACKSON COUNTY.
