Here is my weekly weather quiz question for the last time. What is  “Dry floodproofing?”  Here is the correct answer.  Dry Floodproofing in hydrologic terms, a dry floodproofed building is sealed against floodwaters. All areas below the flood protection level are made watertight. Walls are coated with waterproofing compounds or plastic sheeting. Openings like doors windows, sewer lines and vents are closed, whether permanently, with removable shields, or with sandbags. The flood protection level should be no more than 2 or 3 feet above the top of the foundation because the buildings walls and floors cannot withstand the pressure of deeper water.I’ll have a new weekly weather quiz question for you Monday. The first person to post the correct answer as a comment on this page will win a week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs. Good luck.

An Upper Level High Pressure Ridge (Shaded “Arch” shape with arrows) took over for drying time the rest of  your weekend. The graphics for days 3-7 show a frontal system along the coast next Tuesday then moving through the Pacific Northwest. Another frontal system will be offshore by next Saturday.
