The upper air flow (yellow jet stream and dark colors for winds) shows a  low (yellow circle) moving through California as a high pressure ridge (the “Arch” shape on the yellow line) will keep us dry with lots of sunshine for a while. A frontal system has been pushing through Southern California giving them just what they don’t need, more rain. They have already suffered from flooding and mud slides caused by the heavy rain. A new frontal system will bring the chance of rain back by late Thursday.
