The upper air flow (yellow jet stream and dark colors for winds) shows a high pressure ridge (the “Arch” shape on the yellow line) moving away from us and trough of low pressure (“U” shape on the yellow line)  is sliding in behind the ridge.  A  warm front is warming us up a bit and bringing some rain with it. The cold front behind it will bring the chance of even more rain back to the area.
