Here is my weekly weather quiz question for the last time. What is an “Extratropical Cyclone?”  Here is the correct answer. An Extratropical Cyclone is a cyclone in the middle and high latitudes often being 2000 kilometers in diameter and usually containing a cold front that extends toward the equator for hundreds of kilometers. I’ll have a new weekly weather quiz question for you starting Monday. The first person to post the correct answer as a comment on this page will win a week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs. Good luck.

An Upper Level Low (Shaded “U” shape with arrows) will be spinning through the area  The graphics for days 1-3 show the front offshore today that will move through Monday cooling us down and also surface high pressure building in from offshore after that. The graphics for days 3-7 show a frontal system approaching the coast Thursday and probably falling apart, or at least weakening. Another frontal system will move through next Sunday.
