The upper air flow (yellow jet stream and dark colors for winds) shows a high pressure ridge (the “Arch” shape on the yellow line) moving away from us and trough of low pressure (“U” shape on the yellow line)  is sliding in behind the ridge.  A  warm front has warmed us up a bit and brought some rain with it, but now the cold front behind it will bring the chance of even more rain back to the area today into the weekend.
