Sorry but no winner this week. Here is my weekly weather quiz question for the last time. Here are some hurricane names: Audrey, Agnes, Anita, Allen, Alicia, Andrew, Allison, Betsy, Beulah, and Bob. What do these hurricane names have in common? The answer is simple they are all hurricane names that have been retired, never to be used again. The WMO (World Meteorological Organization) who names the storms retires the names of storms that have done serious damage and/or killed or injured people I’ll have a new weather quiz question for you starting next Monday. As usual the first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs.

The upper air flow trough of low pressure (“U” shape shaded area over the Pacific Northwest) is setting up over us with a lot of Pacific moisture with it. A cold front is moving through the region and is bringing more rain and possible freezing rain back to the area through the weekend. Monday should dry out and turn colder as a cold front drops down from the north, but that won’t last as more disturbances will start moving in. With the colder air already here that could mean a winter mix o rain and snow even down to the valleys next week.
