The upper air flow has been bending more from the west (called Zonal flow) and southwest bringing in warmer, but still very moist air into the Pacific Northwest. The flow has switched more from the northwest cutting off the heavy moisture flow. A high pressure ridge (“Arch”shape in the jet stream) will build in over us and that means it will dry out. Remember that, particularly this time of the year, when it’s not raining it is usually fogging.
