Here is my new weekly weather quiz question. What are “Instrument Flight Rules (IFR)?

A very strong Jet Stream flow www.wunderground.com/maps/wind/jet-stream  from the northeast is sending much cooler air to the Pacific Northwest. A strong cold front www.wpc.ncep.noaa.gov  pushed through the Pacific Northwest from the northeast (called a backdoor cold front) bringing colder air with it. It will take a while for temperatures to warm back up again. There will be frontal activity returning by the end of the week, but not of the bitter cold airflow nature.
