Here is my weekly weather quiz question for the last time. What is “The Intertropical Convergence Zone? Here is the correct answer. The Intertropical Convergence Zone( ITCZ)  is the region where the northeasterly and southeasterly trade winds converge, forming an often continuous band of clouds or thunderstorms near the equator.

An Upper Level Low Pressure Trough (“U “shape) is approaching the coast and allowing moisture in the form of clouds to move over the Pacific Northwest. The graphics for days 1-3 show no major frontal system headed our way. The graphics for days 3-7 show more complex frontal activity moving our way Wednesday through next Sunday returning the rain chances and raising overnight low temperatures.
