Here is my weekly weather quiz question for the last time. What is “Lake Effect Snow? Here is the correct answer.  Lake Effect Snow is snow showers that are created when cold, dry air passes over a large warmer lake, such as one of the Great Lakes, and picks up moisture and heat.

An Upper Level High Pressure Ridge (“Arch” shape) is moving and will push frontal systems our way. The graphics for days 1-3 show the cold front that will move through the Pacific Northwest today and the next one behind it Monday. The graphics for days 3-7  Wednesday through next Monday show the continuing series of complex frontal systems that will slide into the Pacific Northwest through the period.
