Here is my weekly weather quiz question for the last time. What is “Mackeral Sky? ” Here is the correct answer. Mackeral Sky is the name given to cirrocumulus clouds with small vertical extent and composed of ice crystals. The rippled effect gives the appearance of fish scales.

An Upper Level Low Pressure Trough (“U” shape) over the Pacific Northwest will keep things the same. The graphics for days 1-3 show no frontal systems approaching the Pacific Northwest. The graphics for days 3-7 Tuesday through Saturday show no major frontal systems moving into Oregon, but a cold front will be to our northwest Thursday, then pushing into the Pacific Northwest Friday and next Saturday.
